Conditions of Entry
Attendance at Theatre Royal Sydney (Venue) or an event and the right of admission is reserved by Trafalgar Entertainment Asia-Pacific (TEAP), the Venue and/or the Hirer (as applicable). By attending the Venue or an event, you agree to the Venue’s following conditions of entry:
- The use of photographic or recording devices of any kind is not permitted, unless otherwise expressly permitted by the Venue
- To help ensure the safety and security of events, your person, bags and personal belongings may be subject to a visual search
- Umbrellas, prams, backpacks, larger bags and other items that may be hazardous or restrict the movement of visitors may not be permitted into the Venue or may be required to be cloaked, depending on the nature of the event
- You are responsible for your personal possessions such as bags, mobile phones and other items you carry with you. It is your responsibility to collect any cloaked items after the performance.
- Items prohibited inside the Venue include but are not limited to; food or drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) purchased from outside of the Venue, glass bottles, offensive signs or clothing, weapons, dangerous and prohibited items, flammable liquids and devices, wheeled shoes, scooters or skateboards, laser pointers and any other items that could present a safety hazard to others or interfere with the performance. You will be notified if other items are prohibited for particular events.
- Animals are not permitted inside the Venue other than guide, hearing and service assistance animals as defined under the Companion Animals Act 1998 (NSW)
- Oversize items such as bags longer than 30 cms and wider than 21 cms, umbrellas, tripods, baby capsules, prams, helmets, luggage and shopping bags are not permitted within the Venue.
- You may leave personal items in the Cloakroom at your own risk. Cloaking is available to patrons if:
- the Cloakroom is open
- you hold a valid ticket to a performance that day
- TEAP determines that the item is acceptable for cloaking
- Whilst present in the Venue, you must wear appropriate clothing and footwear at all times. You must not wear any hat or headwear in the Venue, except headwear that is recognised as part of your religious dress.
- You may be refused entry or required to leave the Venue or event for any valid reason, including:
- where you cannot produce a ticket for the event
- where you cannot produce proof of concession entitlement where a concession ticket has been purchased. Tickets can be exchanged to a full price ticket at the Venue, where you will be responsible for paying any difference in ticket price
- where you produce a ticket deemed to be fraudulent by the Venue or purchased from an unauthorised seller
- where you refuse to remain in your designated seat or area as listed on your ticket
- where you have in your possession and/or refuse to surrender to TEAP’s staff any prohibited items including but not limited to photographic or recording equipment, dangerous items and food or alcohol that is not permitted to be brought into or used in the Venue
- where you refuse to undergo a physical search or a search of your possessions when requested
- where you behave in a manner which causes or may cause property damage or that threatens or may threaten the safety of performers or other people, including as a result of intoxication
- where you behave in a manner that unreasonably interferes with other people’s enjoyment of the event, including through the use of cameras, mobile phones, personal computers, paging devices or other electronic devices.
- where you are unwell or intoxicated
- where TEAP considers that there may be a health and safety risk to yourself or to others in your attendance at the Venue or the event, including as a result of illness, personal hygiene, your support needs or other relevant factors. Where you have support needs to attend the Venue or the event, we encourage you to contact us in advance of the event, so we can assist in making your visit enjoyable.
- where you otherwise breach these Terms and Conditions or fail to follow the reasonable directions of Venue staff
- In the event that you are refused entry or required to leave the Venue, tickets may not be refunded or exchanged except as required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law)
- Latecomers may only be admitted at a suitable break and may be seated in alternate locations to avoid disruption.
- Theatre Royal Sydney is a cashless venue, only credit or debit cards will be accepted for any onsite purchases. This includes the Box Office, Merchandise Desk and Food and Beverage outlets.
